Accelerator, bronzer or tingle?
Not sure which formula to choose? Here's a clear breakdown of common indoor tanning lotion types, so you can read product labels with confidence.
01. Accelerators
Accelerators are marketed to support the tanning routine, often using moisturising ingredients and without added cosmetic colour. Formulas vary by brand: check the ingredients and directions on the packaging.
BROWSE ACCELERATORS →02. Bronzers
Bronzer formulas contain ingredients intended to give an immediate tint, a gradual-looking colour or both. Some can transfer to clothing before they dry. Follow the label, particularly around hand washing and application.
SHOP BRONZERS →03. Tingle lotions
Tingle products produce a warming or tingling skin sensation and may cause temporary redness or irritation. They aren't suitable for everyone. Avoid using them if your skin is sensitive or irritated, and always read the manufacturer's warnings.

Aftercare lotions focus on moisturisation and skin comfort. Look for ingredients suitable for your skin and consider a patch test when using unfamiliar skincare products.

A sachet can help you evaluate a product's texture or fragrance before purchasing a full-size bottle. Read the usage directions and patch-test where recommended.
A note about UV
Indoor UV tanning raises the risk of skin cancer and causes premature skin ageing. No tanning lotion makes sunbeds safe or provides sun protection unless an SPF is explicitly stated. A sunless self-tanning product is a way to achieve a cosmetic tan without UV exposure.
